Heading to The Gorge!

Just booked my ticket out to The Gorge! Super excited to get out there, I'll be staying with Mutiny Rider/Rep. Matt Sweeting right next to the Hood River. We will have the full range of Mutiny Kites out there to test and demo. If you see a Mutiny in the air just come over and try it out! You will see what you have been missing out on in terms of "feel" offered from a kite.

I'll be out there from August 8-21 so shoot me a message if you will be out there and want to try the kites.

Happy to be out of this FL heat and lack of wind for 2 weeks!

New Sponsor's Kitehero/Windalert!

On a recent trip to Hatteras I got to meet Ryan one of the owner's of Kitehero who is a really cool guy. Really into the sport and knows what he is doing to help grow the sport. Got me hooked up with a bunch of POV style cameras and rigs for my kite. Can't wait to get some more new footage. If you haven't seen the POV style look on my site and I have a video of it. Really cool and fun angles! Contact Ryan from Kitehero if your interested in the cameras, great and easy guy to do business with and will get you totally setup for a killer deal!

Ryan also works with Windalert and got me a unlimited subscription to all the wind meter and wind chart and data across all the sites. This will help me track the best winds in my area and when I'm on the road, so that I don't miss any good wind. Check them out if you want some more detailed info on were to ride and what the wind is going on the run and on your computer.

Thanks, Drew Chrsitianson

Hatteras Trip/ Contour Line Mount Video

Just put this little edit together showing the POV angle you can get from the Contour Line Mount! This was the last day of the Hatteras trip and the wind came out of no where that day and blew enough to get me out on my Mutiny 12m P-Series. Was still a little light at times but a lot of fun in the flat water in the sound! Check out my video and let me know what you think! If your interested in trying out any of the Mutiny Range of Kites just send me a message or if you want to get your hands on a Contour or GoPro Line mount! Thanks Mutiny, Kitehero, Windalert, KTS for the support!

Out of Hatteras

Time to leave Hatteras already, was a short stay but was nice. Out of the 5 days rode 4 out of 5 thanks to Dimitri hooking us up with an Infinity to use on the light wind days. Was my first time to really test out all my sizes of all my new Mutiny P-Series, and have to say they are sick! So stable, and awesome pop and slack! And the 7m loops like no other!

Here are a few pictures thanks to Kitehero hooking me up with a new Contour HD! :)

Hatteras Trip with KiteHero

Flying up to Hatteras tomorrow to get in the waves! Forecast looks good for some winds and waves! Getting picked up from the Airport by Ryan the US Distributor for Mutiny Kites, also the owner of Kitehero. Will be shooting and riding up there and also running some demos. If you see a Mutiny Kite come on over and try it out, will have the F-Series and the P-Series up there to demo! Hope to see ya there!

Mutiny Kites Are In!

Been awhile since the last post, not much wind lately. Teaching lessons in low wind and riding the boat and cable here as much as I can, here are a couple pics of what I've been able to do.

But in other news just got a new kite sponsor! Super stoked to be Mutiny, they are a growing company that have some sick designs out and some really nice kites. You have to try them to really understand! Some different concepts are going into these kites ones that are really pushing forward the sport!

I'll be running demos here in the Tampa area once the wind comes back. Email me if you have any questions about the kites or want to try them out!

Spring Riding!

Just finishing up spring time here and getting ready for the hot summer here in Florida. Full of chasing the wind and riding at the cable! Hope to get out and see the Gorge and Hatteras over summer though.

Spring Time here in Florida is the best because we get a lot of strong south winds that are very smooth and increase all day long! And if the south doesn't show up we get a sea breeze that builds into the teens by the evenings. Its also warming up this time of year so thats a huge plus to get out of the wetsuits!

Also been teaching a lot with KTS Kiteboarding which has been great! Have been meeting a lot of cool people and getting a lot of new kiteboarders out on the water!

Here are a few pictures of when I get to ride between coaching:)

Ski McCormicks

Been doing some of my training at the cable park when the wind has been off here in St.Pete, which seems very often this season. The Cable is great to practice new moves and work on the sliders and kickers. McCormick's runs clockwise which makes it a great training tool as I'm naturally a goofy rider. Here is a video to give you vibe of the park.

Get out here and ride it! It really helps on those no wind days and building your board skills for any level of kiteboarder. And the power is always there! Hoping we will get a good kick of south winds before are season comes to a wrap here. Then traveling starts this summer!

East Beach Fort Desoto

Been doing most of my riding here lately with Billy Parker and the local crew, but haven't been able to get a camera out in the water very often. Hoping to get down to The Keys this week and the following weeks trying and get up to Hatteras. Here are a couple pictures and video coming soon!

Watch out for this girl in the next couple years she will be ripping soon! Check out the Pictures. Best of all its my girlfriend, can't wait to ride together!

2011 Hadlow's

Hey just got in my new Flexifoil Hadlow's! Really excited to get in the water and fly these. The kites have very good build quality this year and have a lot of cool new options to fit your riding style! You can fly them in 5 line or 4/6 line setups and now also you can put a pulley on each front line and offer up to 50% more depower! Once I get the kites dialed in, I'll post a review about the new Hadlow's here. If your in Florida and want to try these out just hit me up! Not too many in the US yet! Here are a few pictures of the new kites. You know the feeling of getting new kites you have to set them up. Thanks Flexifoil for your support and great gear!

New Portable Rail! Plans Included

So just finished building a new rail to use out here in the bay. Only problem when building this was that here in the bay you can't leave your features out in the water. So had to make it portable and easy to setup and break down. The rail is a 24' flat bar rail and with different legs it can easily turn into a incline rail. Down below is how I did it. Can't wait to get out and hit this new rail!

Here is the building material list and a few pics

Rail 24' 2 sections of 8"X12'

Deck 2- 2X8X12
Support Beam 2- 2X6X12
Posts 6- 2X4X8
3- 4X4 Brackets
Feet 3- 2X4X8
Bolts needed 14 varies sizes
Plastic Deck(PVC Sheets)- 2X8 sheet

Rough Cost $150-200 I found a lot of my materials so my cost was around $100

If interested in the Building Plan Contact me and I'll send you a more detailed plan with pictures
